Ontario Immigrant OINP

OINP
Introduction
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) offers an Entrepreneur Stream designed for individuals from outside Canada who are interested in starting a new business or purchasing an existing one in Ontario.

Applicants should have at least 24 months of full-time business experience in the past 60 months as an owner or senior manager and commit to creating at least two permanent full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents if the business is in the GTA, or one job if outside the GTA or in the specified sectors.

An exploratory visit to Ontario is mandatory if purchasing an existing business.

This program is ideal for individuals who wish to leverage Ontario’s dynamic economy, skilled workforce, and strategic location to build and expand their businesses while securing a pathway to permanent residency in Canada.
OINP
Process
  • Business Concept submission: Applicants submit a business concept in their Expression of Interest (EOI), providing details on the proposed venture, including market opportunities, investment strategy, and economic impact in Ontario.
  • Approval: The concept is scored based on specific criteria such as business viability, investment amount, and job creation potential. High-scoring candidates are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA), after which a detailed business plan and supporting evidence are required to complete the application.
  • Business Plan Submission: This in-depth business outline must align with the OINP's objectives, showcasing how the proposed business will contribute to the province’s economic goals and highlighting the applicant's capability to bring the strategy to fruition.
This program is ideal for business owners and investors looking to align their ventures with Ontario’s economic priorities, benefiting from a skilled workforce, global connectivity, and long-term growth potential.
